Professor Anshu Dandia Honored with “Woman in Solar for the Research of the Year” Award.

Professor Dandia’s journey is truly inspiring. Despite facing significant health challenges, including a complex spinal cord condition and subsequent unsuccessful surgery, she demonstrated incredible determination and passion. Refusing to be defined by her physical limitations, she channeled her energy into creating an extraordinary impact in the field of solar energy.

As the former Head of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, Professor Dandia’s achievement is a source of immense pride not only for her department but for the entire university. The award acknowledges her innovative research and significant contributions to solar energy through her company, Trinano Technology Private Limited.

Under Professor Dandia’s leadership, Trinano Technology Private Limited has developed a groundbreaking solid-state nano-coating designed to address the persistent challenges of low efficiency and high maintenance costs associated with solar panels.

This innovative coating boasts a unique microstructure that prevents dust, oil, soot, and bird droppings from adhering to the surface. As a result, the need for frequent cleaning is reduced by up to 50%, leading to significant cost savings and improved performance of solar panels.

The “Jaipur – Global Solar Expo Rajasthan – Suryacon Conference and Awards Ceremony” served as the platform for honoring Professor Dandia’s accomplishments. TriNANO Technologies, part of the WISE Tech Accelerator Summer Cohort 2024, has raised 3.1 Crores in seed funding led by Spectrum Impact, the climate-tech focused investment arm of Aarti Industries. The startup is tackling critical challenges in the solar industry with a patented nano-coating that boosts energy output by 4-6%, reduces cleaning water usage by 55%, and extends panel lifespan delivering a powerful trifecta of efficiency, -sustainability, and durability.

Reflecting on the journey, Dr. Harsh Sethi, Founder & CEO, shared, “The WISE Tech Accelerator’s mentorship transformed our fundraising journey. Their hands-on support in refining our investor pitch, critical mentorship on fundraising valuation strategies, and go-to-market strategy helped us secure this round with mission-aligned investors like Spectrum Impact.”

India’s TriNANO Technologies has developed a nanocoating for solar modules that reportedly increases the panel’s power generation by up to 4% owing to its light trapping, anti-reflection and self-cleaning properties. It also lowers the panel temperature by 2-3 degrees Celsius compared to non-coated panels.
